Wood is the original renewable resource. One of the most durable, long lasting building materials known. Timber structures can stand indefinitely with relatively minimal input over such a lifespan. They are flexible and dynamic– More fire, earthquake and wind proof than steel and concrete buildings; they can be taken apart, reassembled and reconfigured. In fact, there are thousands of timber framed buildings that are more than a millennium old in active use throughout the world today.
